Perches.
« on: October 28, 2011, 19:28 »
Im thinking of making some new perches for my girls.  Do they have to be square with the corners taken off (my exsiting ones are like this), or would an old cutain poll be ok if it was a thick one?  It would be much eaiser to clean and deffinatly no sharp edges.

A curtain rail would be too small for most chickens' feet.  They don't grip like wild birds - they need to balance while they sleep so a really big, thick perch is the best.  It can be round but probably at least 10cm in diameter.
