overnighting for ducks - advice please
« on: July 22, 2010, 17:45 »
Hello everyone, I wondered what you all do with the food and water situation overnight for ducks? My girls and boys are outside during the day with free access to water and their pellets (plus greens etc) but when I tuck them up in their shed, should I also put in a drinker and lave the pellets in with them? I know ducklings have to have free access to food and water but what about fully feathered ducks? Any advice gratefully received! Thanks, Lisa

No, no, no - just think of the mess they would make  :tongue2: Once mine are feathered they go into the adult house and have no food or water overnight at all. The dirty muckers make enough mess in there at night without giving them food and water to play with  ::) They will be asleep so don't need them  :)

Oh thank goodness!! I'm SO relieved to hear that - mine have been making a right mess just as you describe! Thanks so much  :D
