Do flies ever just die out lol.   We had a bit of a problem with flies in the summer, im sure it was from our neighbour though as shes a grotty cow , ive just been out there today to poo pick and theres loads of flies, its so bizarre isnt it, must be to do with this mild weather we are having, i mean its november and it was 17 degrees here today, the sun has been shinning all day.    nickyx

I have this vision now Nicky, of your neighbour - a vaguely tramp-like character with a  cloud of flies around her.  Wasn't there a character in the Peanuts cartoons who had a cloud of flies?  Oh no, perhaps it was cloud of dust...?

We have lots of flies too.  I just went out for an egg check and there's loads buzzing around.  I guess it's because it's damp and warm (ish) - ideal nasty insect weather...

I had a similar problem in the summer.  I planted some rue in a pot outside the run and it seems to have worked-the flies disappeared.

Have been trying to send a message to Nicky - why are you down as a guest now?  It didn't recognise your name when I tried to send the message!  Finally got my girls yesterday!  1 buff sussex, 1 speckled sussex, 1 barnvelder and 1 cuckoo maran!  Hope you are back on soon.  All very exciting and nerve racking as they are my first girls!

Carol
