Shallots going to seed?

Shallots going to seed?

Are they? Planted these last year autumn sometime. The leaves aren't wilting. If I call correctly I am supposed to wait till then. That's what I did last year. If I let them go to seed will it effect the flavor? I will need to lift some for planting next year or probably autumn. Thanks.

My sept planted Golden Gourmet shallots have done this. You should lop off those flower stalks as the plants energy will be focussed on the flower rather than swelling the bulb.
