Title: What Soil For New Greenhouse Border

I have just finished building my new greenhouse and for the first time I intend to plant directly into the greenhouse borders. At the moment they are around 8" below the final surface height I want.

What should I fill the borders with, a combination of garden soil, manure and compost? If so what would be a reasonable ratio?

Would I need to change the soil every year to avoid the build up of pests and diseases?

I should try and assemble a moisture retentive soil, (not too much peaty stuff).  Include some Blood, fish and bonemeal at the outset and you should be set up.

I've grown tom's in the same soil for ages but always add some more good stuff each year.  No sign of nasty desieses (never can spell that word)  :mad:   yet.    Cheers,    Tony.
