looking back at the Christmases you had years ago when shall we say in your younger years and what you remember having for  Christmas dinner and the presents you received from Father Christmas and do you think Christmas these days has become to commercialised

I remember my Aunt buying me a skipping rope with wooden handles when I was about 8, I loved it.  The scary thing is that its still being used by my grandchildren.

My mum used to make me and my sister new dresses as our Christmas presents - always a treat. We got more excitement from our stockings hanging from the mantelpiece, filled with sweets, like chocolate money, what we'd call penny toys, perhaps a ball and a pair of socks, but there was always a tangerine in the toe.
Oh how I loved eating those when I was small  Such a treat....

As a little girl I used to get art stuff, a pen, sweeties, a tangerine, a chocolate-covered penny, books, and a tin of talc with some bath cubes. I certainly never asked for anything expensive as a) I didn't want anything like that and b) my parents couldn't afford it if I did.
