I have already planted my 1st and 2nd earlies, but my Manicrop won't go in for another week to two. What variates are they, if you post that will help us help you.

I have also planted my earlies on my patio in containers. They are convenient for me to cover if it turns cold. I am leaving it another week or so for those on the allotment because it is not so easy to cover them if the weather turns. Last year I lost half a row to late frost. I will have so many earlies it should not matter delaying main crop for a week or two.

There isn't really a "right" time; many people plant their earlies (in particular) around St. Patrick's day (March 17th) which is fine unless you get a late frost and have no more soil left for earthing up to protect the tops as happened to many people last year (including me!)

No-one knows what this year will bring and you can't delay planting forever; my soil is dry and relatively warm now and rain is forecast for Wednesday so my first-earlies will be planted today or tomorrow.  :)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
