My lush and lovely elsanta strawberries have finished production.  Am I right in thinking you cut all leaves off now, obviously not touching the crown.

if its not broken dont mend it , you could however take the runners off anf plant them in 6 inch pots , 4 runners per pot, you will get another bed of strawberries next year ,

Yes. This will refurbish the mother plant, but don't do it to any runners if you choose to have more plants. Its also time to feed the plants with lots of good compost and keep them watered all summer if its dry. This summer's watering sets the fruit size for next year.

Didn't know about the watering or feeding setting the fruit size.  Already rooted most of the runners.

I only cut brown, dead leaves off from my strawberries.  And all runners, of course.

That watering thing will explain why we are having golf ball sized strawberries this year - it did nothing but rain last year.  :lol:
