it is in my strawberry bed , is it a form of comfrey

Dont know what its called but its everywhere here, I'm pulling it out all the time.  It spreads like crazy.   >:(

Is it borage? Hairy leaves,cucumber taste? Only known use is flowers floatwd on top of cocktails 8)

Oh, i've just deleted that post cos i didn't think it was right :D

Did you mean that it spreads like crazy or that it might be Alkanet :unsure:

spana i have just googled alkanet and i think that you are right and it is also related to borage so i think i have my answer , :)
now can i use it as a comfrey or just best to get rid altogether :wub:

Its green alkanet alright, spreads like wildfire.I would defo pull it up.
A few people on our site were growing it as they thought it was comfrey, i told them  what it was and they pulled it up pretty quickly.

Woops! Got a few roots of this from a friend for my country garden thinking it was Borage! Now I've looked at some pictures I can see the difference!
At the time I thought the root was like Comfrey.... a huge tap root.
Better yank it out quick! It's flowering!
