garlic and spuds

Hi Guys. I am new here and have just started to dig my vegetable plot on my crofy which i am lucky to own. I have lots of seeds to plant most of which im aware should be done until april. However the early pots and the garlic when should i do those. Thanks in advance.

Get the garlic in now as they take time to set roots. They also need some cold weather to force themselves to split into cloves.

Early spuds are chitting indoors now for many people for later planting out.

Thats grand. I have the garlic in the fridge and the pots are chitting away nicely on the windowsill. Thank u

Keeping garlic in the fridge isn't quite what I meant

Unless they're also potted up. They should either be planted now in the ground, or somewhere cool in pots (greenhouse, porch, etc). The roots get quite large and need space. If you pot them for now, you can plant out in another month or two.

Yes i know but i read somewhere on here that before you plant it out keep it cold in the fridge for a few weeks before planting as it helps apparently x
