They have all gone. Yesterday and today I have had to lift the various size slabs (the 2' x2' were damn heavy)
Then I removed all the gravel, which had earth in it. The grasses had spread under the slabs and some of the roots were over 1 foot long, no wonder they wouldn't die.
I sieved all the gravel to get it clean, what a back-breaking jab that is. Moved the slabs back, after laying new matting over the old and pegging it down. Had to bonk the earth with my very big and heavy bonker, as it was no longer flat. Lifted all the clean gravel back and levelled the slabs. Used the big leaf-vac again to remove the remainder of the olive tree leaves, and put a couple of pretty spheres down. It does look lovely and I am soooo glad those grasses have gone. I have to go to daughters now for a meal. Honestly, I am too tired and achy. Still at least I shall eat. I wouldn't have had much if at home. Mrs Bouquet
