Title: Glass cloches
Post by: cgilbert1101 on July 18, 2006, 09:11
Does anyone know how to construct old fashioned glass cloches?  I've just been given some and its like the Krypton Factor wondering how to put them together.  There's two large oblong panes of glass and two smaller oblongs with 4 metals bits, one V shaped, one with a circle inthe middle, one T shaped and one straight long one.   :?

I had this shown to me last year and even did a couple to ensure I could come the spring. No way - it's a knack I've lost over the winter!

My advice is to buy some plastic clips that join the galss together - you can get them via the allotment shop on this site or try your local supplier.

never dismantle the last cloche; your memory isn't as good as you think

John- like you I got some from the freecycle giveaway-  if you want a look I'll show you one!

I thought I took some pics of glass cloches at Audley End but they're just slightly out of shot...
