hi went to home base to day an bought 2 redcurrant bushes is it to late to put them in the grand

No, now is a good time to put them in so that they can put down roots before the real bad weather comes.

Redcurrents are hardy bushes that shut down for the winter so that the frost will not affect them.

Stock up on some fleece also.  Think redcurrants are the blackbirds favourite fruit of choice and they will always get to the fruit before you do if not covered.

My redcurrant grow like mad, and nothing eats them, not even the chickens.
We use chemicals in this garden, just as god intended

Had a huge crop of Redcurrents but the birds ate every Black current, I will fleece ALL my fruit crops next year.

I was given 2 good size  Redcurrants a few weeks ago and planted straight away into the ground in my garden. The leaves are now yellowed and falling off.. hope they haven't died!!
Now a member of the 10 Ton club.... 2013  harvested 588 Kg from 165 sq mt..

Over summer I had 10,000 red currents on my bush. One morning they were there but by the afternoon the birds had eaten every. single. one.  >:(

I would say its just that time of year, my 3 year old redcurrants are loosing their leaves now.
