i am just putting the big hanging feeder and drinker in the run,do i take the feeder indoors at night?also iv been putting the little food tray and water in their house with them at night.Is that the right thing to do?do they need food and water in there when they sleep?
I had a measure and the run is 11 1/2 sq mtrs for 3 chickens although we only have 2 at the mo so i think we are fine with space and when they are older they can come out in the garden but the rooks are watching them at the moment!

we always put the feeder in the bin that holds the food at night so that it can't get eaten or pooed into by mice.
helps avoid rats too.

but you mean inside their house, don't you?
you don't need to give them food overnight - they won't eat until morning.

Thank you for the info.So no food and water it is.The big feeder is under cover and hanging on a chain,can mice still get in there?
Im happy to put the feeder in the garage at night though and put it out in the morning.
They are 1/2 and 1/2 on chick crumbs and growers pellets.They have boiled egg every other day and quit a few meal worms.Also bits of bread.What other treats can they have?
