Apologize in advance for newbie question.

I have planted out 2 different types of winter cabbage (Vertus and Marner Storing Red) about 2 weeks ago.  Previous to that they had been in an unheated greenhouse for around 3-4 weeks.

At the moment they are all about 4-6 inches tall, most with 2 main leaves and very 'leggy' with a lot of them on the verge of falling over or falling over. Is this right? Have I done something wrong or is this just a result of recent heavy rain? Thanks in advance for any thoughts, cheers, Simon

Probably not, cabbage can take 9-10 months to mature so they will grow somewhat, if they start to look limp and then die it be the dredded cabbage root fly, have you put collars on them? my reds are probably looking the same, dont worry see how they go.

another thing when planting out the young brassicas is to plant them upto the bottom leaf and realy firm them in.
also club root can make them go leggy and flimsy.
