Can anyone please help me. I'm trying to find some day  old chicks in Kent.  I'm based near Dartford and willing to travel.  I have a broody hen and we'd like to give her a few chicks to raise. Ideally looking for hybrid birds.

wouldn't it be easier to get hatching eggs? Lot of hassle trying to source day olds and then hoping she will accept them. Also if you try pure breed hatching eggs will be easier to pair off any surplus cockerels.  Or are you looking to get sex-linked day olds? Just a thought.....

We did think about hatching eggs but decided to ttry the day old chicks.  It's just finding a supplier that's a problem!

We are getting some day olds on 17th June Kym, but its a 2.5hour trek from us to N. Kent!!!!!  I don't know of any hatcheries around your way.  I wasn't into chooks when I lived in kent.

Don't know if this one is any good.  They are on our poultry suppliers list here, and the only one in Kent.  It does say day olds, but I can't find any details on my quick look on their website.

But, you may be better with hatching eggs as its a chance that the broody won't accept the chicks.
