It's a sad day indeed. The country has lost a stalwart servant and Her Majesty a husband of 73 years.

Yes just seen this on Facebook, he looked very poorly on those last photos (that shouldn’t have been shown in my belief)
A sad day for his family & many others.
I wonder how they’ll manage the funeral in the current situation?

So sorry to hear this.  One of a kind.  Hope they as a family have the chance to grieve in private.

A really sad day, but he had a good life.
I suspect there will be a quiet family funeral at Windsor, without lots of visiting dignitaries or London military marches etc.
Perhaps a memorial service later in the year, if the Covid situation allows.

Superbly, I expect.
In normal times a full state funeral but with things as they are ...
Thing is the funeral is for those left behind, a sharing of grief. We'll know soon enough.

He was a very balancing character for the Royal Family.   He will be missed by all.

Apparently no lie ing in state (sorry cannot get that to type correctly!) is what he requested According to the radio, and yes, of course they do do things superbly, no doubt about that

Heard a quote today (not entirely original) that 'they just don't make 'em like Prince Philip anymore.'

Opinions on whether that's a good or bad thing will no doubt differ given it's 2021, but it would surely be heartless not to feel sympathy for the Queen's personal loss if nothing else.  :(

Overall; sad day, with much food for thought/reflection...

Like him or loathe him, it's a personal loss for the Queen and his family and we should all take a moment to reflect on the loss of a loved one. Personally I liked him, yes he made one or two gaffs.. but don't we all!
R.I.P Prince Phillip

What a sad day for your country, and the royal family. My deepest sympathies to all of you.
