Intercropping Beetroot

I think it depends on three things:

1. The variety of potato and thus the size of the foliage. Some of my maincrops grow massive

2. How far apart your potato rows are, as for me there would be no space left that is not being disturbed by earthing up

3.  What size beetroot you are hoping for

I forgot about the potato foliage issue. I went down to the allotment today and asked the question - the foliage point was made, so I planted a row of beetroot about two feet away from the Sutton broad beans.
