Title: should I give it a stir ?

just started a youngs lager kit yesterday and it's bubbling away nicely is it best to leave it alone or give it a stir?

leave it well alone you would only be adding air wich at this stage could cause the drink to oxidise and produce an off taste

Agreed, leave it alone.

You should stir vigorously prior to putting the Yeast in to get as much oxygen in the wort as possible, but once fermantation has started you should leave it alone.

The only time you may wish to stir is if the fermentation sticks, i.e. the gravity doesn't fall to it's desired point, in that case you would stir very gently to rouse the yeast from the bottom, avoiding any splashing as you don't want to introduce oxygen as that would spoil the beer.
