Title: Blackfly on redcurrant
Post by: Gardener and Rabbit on April 30, 2018, 20:53
Does anyone have a good solution for dealing with blackfly on a redcurrant?

Every year it gets heavily infested, and the blackfly are back already, just noticed the distorted leaves. It's in flower now, so I don't want to spray anything that would harm the pollinators. However, left untreated it looks sad all Summer and the leaves & tips eventually die.

Last year I used an organic soap spray later on, but it left a sticky residue on the fruit, so we didn't use the crop.

Why not use the soap spray now before the fruit forms?
