Hi. I have loads of plums. I have read some threads on drying them but I'm still not sure what to expect. How long would you expect halved plums to take and how do I know when they are done? I know the timing will vary but in an electric fan oven at 50 degrees would I be looking at 5 hours or 25 hours or 5 days? I really don't have a clue.

Ours just finished this morning I put them in the dehydrator at around 3pm on Saturday they were on 55 .

Hi Murphy. What did they look and feel like when done please?
-
They look like little pieces of leather and when you eat one the taste is almost explosive.

Thanks Murphy, I waited until they were leathery and you are right about the taste! I did 50 smallish plums and they now fit in a jam jar!!!!
