Title: Drying plums in electric oven
Post by: Jackypam on September 07, 2014, 21:59
Hi. I have loads of plums. I have read some threads on drying them but I'm still not sure what to expect.  How long would you expect halved plums to take and how do I know when they are done?  I know the timing will vary but in an electric fan oven at 50 degrees would I be looking at 5 hours or 25 hours or 5 days?  I really don't have a clue.

They look like little pieces of leather and when you eat one the taste is almost explosive.

Thanks Murphy, I waited until they were leathery and you are right about the taste!  I did 50 smallish plums and they now fit in a jam jar!!!!
