Just has a load of pretty fresh manure from my neighbour farmer what would be the best way of getting it rotted down in a quick way... if that is possible. I normally leave it lying where he drops it for a good part of a year before using by which time it is like a very good compost it but was wondering if the process can be speeded up?

Personally, I prefer nature to take its course, but all I can suggest it to put it in containers such as compost bins, pallet bins, in a pile or whatever, then keep turning it to get the air in.

Yes, keep turning it - once it stops smelling - you can use it

Theres a decent vid on youtube where a woman uses black plastic to cover the manure and it is done in 30 days, Dave

in the mean time stuff some into the feet of a pair of tights and in turn shove them into a barrel of water.  Makes a good liquid feed.
