I bought 2 for mychickens they are about 10" tall not huge ones, are they ok for my big mum hen as she has a bigger beak than the youngsters and I havent seen her use it so I put a stainless steal bowl out for her

I was told it would be ok but the water channel at the bottom is qiute small in depth

they only need a 1.2 inch gap to drink from ..... take the dish away or at least fill it ful of pebbles as the chicks can and wil drown in it  :cry:

Yes thought of that and only put an inch or so in but it has high sides so don't think they can get anywhere near the top of it.  I have seen them jump on the back step and its 3 inches high that takes all lthere energy so think this bowl is safe

ive seen em drown in a left behind mower grass bin 2 inch dep cos the water gets cold shocks em n they gone :cry:

when they get bigger  and if you only have the three  your fine with one . any more thanthat get another drinker . werk on the thinking that 10 birds need 4 drinkers
