There's no such things as bantam Warrens.   :nowink: If they are true Warrens , then your friend has bought some of the most prolific layers that there are about. If I wanted birds for egg laying alone, then I wouldn't entertain having anything else.

Thank you

Will try and get a pic up tomorrow and see about what age you reckon they are because dad said there tiny that why he thought maybe they were bantams but obviously not   .

They came as POL but they look really small.

Hybrid chooks like the Warrens are a medium sized breed Catii.  they are not as big as say Orpingtons.

Some people start to sell them as POL at about 14 weeks.  Do these warrens have slightly pointy looking faces?  our Babcocks and Amberlinks seem to have a slightly pointy looking face until they start to lay, then they get the proper hens face, if you know what I mean.  Here are some of my last lot of Babcocks at about 14 weeks old.

hope it doesn't come out too small!

Perhaps they are even younger than that Catii???  But it seems silly to me trying to sell POL hens who are not going to lay for weeks and weeks.  But like Bodger said, they don't do a bantam warren!  Hybrids are bred for laying lovely big eggs!!!!

Hi Catii, ours are quite small, certainly smaller than their companion Light Sussex.  What they lack in stature, they make up for in friendliness and eggs!
