Aunt Sally,

Is the garlic a supplement, or actual garlic, cos we've got loads of wild garlic in the garden, I could pick the leaves...?

Normally in powder form mixed with feed.  Can buy a large tub (5Kg) of 'horse issue' for not much cash - a lot cheaper than buying it in little pots in the supermarket.

As Monty says - powdered from the horsey suppliers is good.  Some people add cut cloves of garlic to the water so you might try some crushed leaves in their feed or water if you want. But the pwdered stuff really is cheap.  I add about a heaped teaspoon full to about a kilo of feed.
