Catii

Crumbs a goose

I like the idea for a farm, but only get one rabbit otherwise you'll end up with loads LOL

I think I'm not sure but basic white embden crosses are best geese for Christmas the kind like you normally see on farms, not pure embden 'cause there ain't mainy pure ones left :)

If you wanted one now for Christmas this year it'd have to be a month old at least to be a good size by Christmas :)

Hope that helps a bit

Are there any Poultry markets near you??

Other than that any local farmers who might have a young Gander they don't want.

It's difficult with Geese they don't lay their eggs all the time like chickens. I've not had an egg from Crumb since May

But I'm not bothered so long as she's ok :)

Probably Campbells as they are the most efficient layers (350 is for the best strains and many do not do that well. Mine are ok till they moulted but not going to be 350!)
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Hi Catii

Those ad's look good might be worth getting in touch with them :)

The first one has Turkeys does your Dad not fancy one of those for Christmas?? They make great pets too :)

as far as I know unless somethings changed recently the Cambell's are the best ducks for eggies ~(320 white eggs), 2nd is the Runner duck~(295 blue green eggs) then the Abacot Ranger & Welsh Harliquin~ ( 250 white eggs )

Sarah :)
