Stop turning 3 days before hatch date. After than it is even more important to keep the humidity up. From about 58% during the first 18 days to 65% in the last 3 days according to a quick google search. Someone chickeny may come along with better figures
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Never worked that out! I would stop it on friday particularly as mine have always hatched a little early. Hope you hear from some chicken people as I have ducks so might be really different!

Nope chickens are about the same I'd go along exactly with what Kate said and you wont go wrong :)

Just keep an eye on the humidity might need a bit extra water in a little dish.

Thanks Kate and Vember ,

How do you get the humidity up because the water trays are 3/4 full so should we fill it right up ???

Sorry for the silly quistions  but it is the 1st time to use a incubator.

Many thanks for your help.

No idea. I wasted my money on a posh one that tells me the humidity so you can tell everytime it goes wrong! You can buy hygrometers (think thats what they are called) to tell the humidity. Think they are pretty cheap.

hi Catii

I would fill both up from Thursday night if by Friday Morning you still haven't got the right humidity pop a small container or a wet sponge in the incy

Wet sponge is best as the babies wont drown in that :)

But make sure it's always damp :D

ta vember for wet sponge comment...would it hold for the three days or would you have to keep wetting?? dont want to disturb the incy, and its not just a case of open the top...you have to slide the tray out from the side and its a bit bumpy for the eggs....

Just about to say the same thing. I used a flannel as a sort of wick in the waterso that it increased the surface area without there being a big pool they could drown in.

If you can't get a wick like Kate suggested I'd go for more than one sponge.

With my very limited experience with Incys the sponge will dry up quite quick.

vember :)
