I am looking to keep food spilage under control to stop vermin. I am looking to purchase a treadle type feeder does anyone use this type of feeder are they any good?

what type of feeder are you currently using and are you feeding pellets or mash.

i use standard feeders and pellets and cant say that i get spillage, bt i guess with them being free range in their own garden i dont mind if they do make a mess

I am looking to keep food spilage under control to stop vermin.

I have a couple of these in the garden, one actually in a large run with the chickens, but carefully secured under a weighted bread basket so the chickens can't get near it.

At the moment I am using a normall Galvinised feeder, but been looking at the Treadle type feeder were the chickens stand on a pad wich opens the flap for the food.
