Title: GREENHOUSE arrived but problems
Post by: scentedstock on February 08, 2008, 12:02
My greenhouse has just arrived and was unpacking it when I discovered it was the wrong one.

I ordered a 6x6 but a 4x6 arrived. If I send it back I have to wait 28 days for the new one to arrive.

Question: Do you have a 4x6 and can you fit a lot into it? Is it not as small as it sounds?

HELP - I need somebody. HELP - just a greenhouse body!

Not a greenhouse expert but, I would wait the 28 days. In twelve months time you'll be kicking yourself if you make do with the 4 x 6 for sure.

I'd demand they sent me the right one ASAP, not have to wait another month

I've had a 6x8 for years and you can soon fill one of those

My Mum bought a 6x4 last Autumn for her lottie and it was TINY!!! It didn't come with a vent either so it would have been a real hothouse come summer!

Unfortunately it blew down in last weeks gales so she never even got to use it!!!!

Get back onto the suppliers and demand your greenhouse ASAP!

You didn't order a 6x4, so get on that phone!

My 6x4 is alright for what I originally intended to use it for, but I can't grow tomatoes or peppers because of lack of space.

GREENHOUSE UPDATE

I am half-way through constructing the 4x6 greenhouse that arrived this morning. I have contacted the company and they are sending me another 4x6 greenhouse for FREE to make up for their mistake. I have also been given instructions on how to connect the two greenhouses together.

Therefore, I paid for a 6x6 greenhouse and will get a 6x8 greenhouse.

Who says that complaining doesn't pay!!!! well done!!! It would obviously cost twice the amount to pick up and drop off so its a win win situation for both parties.

That's excellent news SS!!

It was garden buildings direct wasn't it?

They delivered my shed on Friday and I've had a phone call to see if it was ok and an email for feedback! I told them it wouldn't be put up till the lottie was ready and they said if there were any probs just ring them and they'd sort it! I'm impressed!

We'd never had a greenhouse until we had our lottie and I bought one off Ebay.  I asked the chap who sold it to us if t here were any instructions for erecting it and he gave us some sound but simple advice "start from the ground up"

I love greenhouses. There's nothing quite so good.  My favourite place to visit is Kew Gardens.  I'd love one of them  :D

It may be more of a fiddle, but I'd go with the free greenhouse which will give you an extra 18 sq feet FREE than what you ordered. Doesn't sound like much until you start filling it and wish you'd bought a much larger one to begin with.    Small price to pay for waiting 28 days.
