Title: Beer for slugs
Post by: sion01 on October 31, 2012, 15:17
I had a supply of slopps from a local pub to drown my slugs over the summer(really worked well) but my supply has dried up.I won't give my best stuff to the slugs so is there a really cheap, easy brew that I could make for the slugs?Thank you

I was donated a Brewbuddy Lager kit years ago and I'm not sure about the slugs but it wasn't good enough for me hehe.  Pretty pricey slug trap brew at £16 (http://www.balliihoo.co.uk/brewbuddy-lager-p-204.html) though.  There are cheaper kits out there for about 10bucks but even that could be a tad pricey?  You might find a cheap unwanted beer kit at a car boot sale or on freegle so maybe worthwhile keeping an eye open for one over the winter holz.

I might throw some old fruit and/or veg in a bucket with some bread yeast and a bit of sugar to see what happens

Just use the cheapest cans of lager you can find.
I think A**A do it for around 20p a can.
I wouldn't want to personally drink it  but im sure the slugs wouldn't mind it!
