Verbascums

Anyone grown these? I got some early last year but was a bit disappointed as they were a bit weedy-looking. This year - just look at them!

Lovely!  I have finally managed to go some Verbascum this year. Do you know whether they will come back next year?  Or are they biennial?

Lovely!  I have finally managed to go some Verbascum this year. Do you know whether they will come back next year?  Or are they biennial?

Mine were biennial (yellow ones)  but the seeds scattered grew plants that flowered the next year, and they were easy to move where you want them to be too.

There are purple ones that are perennial however, that look very much like Goosegirl's.

I believe they are perennials but don't always last like most do.

I have White ones and they have survived for the last 4 years no problem and welcome and the bees love them

Have some at the bottom of my plot, looked yesterday, covered in verbascum caterpillars, very nice they look so I have just left them there!
STOP, and smell the roses!

Look out for mullion moth caterpillars, they look pretty but chomp their way through the plants (from experience  :( ).
