I just went out to fill the girls water buckets up outside, and heard a banging noise and the roof of the brooder shed where we keep the pecked girls til they recover was nearly blowing off.  I had to get Brian out quick and held on to it while he went to get hammer and nails to get it back on.

The window was open a bit and created a vortex inside, and the galvanised feeder which is hanging on the roof by a hook had come down straightening the hook!  Luckily the girls are okay, shaken but not flattened!

Oh I didn't see this thread - I posted a windy one on the off topic section. Sorry
I'll copy my post here.

"Nasty out there isnt it!
Sitting here with my mug of coffee and pate on toast and watching the wind and rain batter the little birdies trying to feed on our table.

Not going riding todsay I thjink - mare would NOT be happy!"

That was worth waiting for wasn't it..!

Luckily no damage here - even the bird table still upright. But the cat is going mental - bouncing around the house cos she wants to go outside but shes too much of a princess!

Storm alarm sounded at approx 7:00, so checked TV forecast, got up and got jobs done at plot before it hit.

It's really wild here. i went to tesco earlier with ds, it was dry and a little windy on the way there, when it came to walking back, a normally 5 minute walk took us 15 minutes, i didn't know whether to stand on the windy side of ds to protect him from the hail stones or on the road side of him to stop him blowing onto the road. we were soaked to the bone by the time we got home.

poor thing had a hot water bottle and a nice cup of hot chocolate. now he's sleeping soundly. i'm not looking forward to tomorow mornings school run. i need to learn to drive, this waiting for buses malarky in wild winds is getting to much for my old bones.
I don't have a drink problem. I drink, I get drunk, I pass out. No Problem.
