Welcome to the forum :)
It's disappointing but the green mesh polytunnel covers do degrade after a year or two. You can buy identical replacement covers on ebay or cover with proper polytunnel plastic which lasts for 5 years plus. It's more of a job to cut/fix sheets but the results are better.

Or incorrect polytunnel plastic which biodegrades with the sun. Look online for better quality
