Hello all

I've bought my 2 chickens a pumpkin    A work collegue said I shouldn't feed them the seeds and should remove them from the pumpkin.

I've been on a few websites that say you can just break the pumpkin in half and give it to them, but they didn't say if they removed the seeds.

Does anyone else treat their girls to pumpkin? Do you give them the pumpkin including seeds?

MIne had a couple off of the plot last year seeds and all and I had no problems.

I always leave the seeds in.  In fact I had read that pumpkin seeds were a natural wormer so I used to chop up the seeds and feed them regularly.  Didn't do any good with the worms, but didn't harm the chickens either.

Don't be disappointed if they are not interested!  Some chickens like pumpkin, others don't.  Give them a little to start with and see if they are interested.  You may end up using the rest for pumpkin soup (for humans).
