Title: Does anyone know what these vintage gardening tools are?
Post by: Countryboy on April 22, 2013, 19:32
One looks like a vintage seed spreader. Its has a gear on the end of the shaft, so it must attach to something but im not sure what. I thought it might attach to this old hand cultivation but if it does i can't figure out how.

Any info would be helpful. I think they're american .

Bottom one is a hoe.

The gear around the wheel spindle engages with the crown gear and ensures the seeds are not allowed to settle and clog the exit hole(s).  It looks as though part of the bracket / clamp is missing.

Cheers,   Tony.

Thanks for the link and the clamp info. It makes sense now why i couldn't work out how they fitted if theres a part missing. I'll have a look in the shed for it  :)
