I have two goldrush and two all greenbush.  They are growing very well and I have potted them up from their original 3" pots.



I even have what looks like a courgette growing on one of them, not sure if you can make it out here, although the flower hasn't opened yet:




I have looked at the projected forecast for the next two weeks and I know they are not always accurate but the nights are not looking too cold for my area.  They are outside during the days now whatever the weather and seem to be ok.  Are they safe to plant out yet or should I wait another couple of weeks?

Advice greatly appreciated as this is my first full season and first time of growing courgettes.

go for it ! just think about the wind at the moment (well its quite windy here)

i planted mine out last week along with several squashes and pumpkins, went to the plot today and 5 have been broken by the wind so i have had to come home and resow

your plants are alot bigger than mine were though so they might be alright

I hope so Lucywil as I have just come back from the plot where I planted them!  Unfortunately I snapped one of the leaf stems off when I tried to get it through the front door!

Fingers crossed they will be ok.  I have two much smaller ones in the greenhouse which are just getting their first set of true leaves so there is a back up plan!

I think they will be better planted out than left in the pots for two more weeks.
Think about making a fleece tent or barrier to protect them for a few days

I haven't actually done any seedlings yet, but was eying my manure heap today, thinking 'hmmmm....'

Am I too late to start a couple off with a view to planting a couple on my heap?

Mine have been out for 4 weeks i put them out when i had 3 good leaves staight from my cold frame.Must admit they grow a lot slower when out doors and mine got bit sun bleached but all doing well now have got them in  a salad box made out of scaffolding planks which protects them from wind and have them netted and plenty of slug pellets (mine were all eaten last year)

Mine were in pots in our lounge, other half got sick of seeing them so I re-potted into bigger pots and left in the shed by the window, they looked very sorry for themselves when i went back so I put them outside and they seem to have perked up, but that might be to do with all the rain we've had, and its been milder too.

Yours are HUGE compared to my tiny seedlings and mine seem to be ok.

Im beginning to learn things are hardier than I think!

I planted them out on Sunday.  On Monday and Tuesday we had terrible weather here, lots of rain and high winds.  Went to check them yesterday and they are fine.  One stalk looking a bit bent but other than that doing well.

planted mine out 2 weeks ago. They are looking a bit sad at the moment because they've been battered by the rain but a bit of sun and they will be fine. Time to feed them too.
