Our neighbour brokered a deal with another neighbour for 12 of the new hens (they were the  resued day old chicks from the chicken  meat factory)
The neighbour wanted some new hens to help keep down the weeds in his big garden (it is BIG)  so he bought our hens for 5€ each  so we now have 4 meat hens and the cockerel left from the young chicks we reared.  We will buy some point of lay hens to replace the hens (just 6 though)    At least we will get more eggs from proper ´egg laying ´ hens
