Lidls' big garden sale this week
« on: March 02, 2009, 13:44 »
I saw the notices up, so I popped in, they've got fruit trees at £3.99 and seeds at 28p and 49p!!
I bought some more seeds ( some for flowers including another batch of sunflowers!) :tongue2:

I also bought some knee pads for £1.99 and a seedbed tunnel (5m) for £4.88 :D

Its a cloche.

there's a load of other stuff appearing in Lidle on Thursday too, which is when I thought the cloches were going to be in. Have to pop in tonight on the way home then :)

What's a seedbed tunnel?

Effectively a  mini polytunnel, I'm going to use it to protect my newly planted bit's and bobs.

I was at a fruit tree pruning demonstration this weekend.  The chap said that although many of these cheap trees looked good quality, very rarely was the rootstock size described - so you run the risk of getting a very vigorous large tree which will shade your plot and drink all your other plants' nutrients / water.  So just a warning to be aware of rootstock size...
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
