Greenhouse too hot to take cuttings ?
« on: June 26, 2009, 07:53 »
Hi,

I'm planning on taking a load of cuttings from shrubs and flowers this year.

I've taken a few heather cuttings  a week early and all they do in the greenhouse is wilt, now there is not point watering much as there are no roots on the cutting yet to take in the water.

All the books and programmes say- put them in a warm shady place.

Now is the greenhouse the right place ?

Where do you put them ? Do you have this problem?

Thanks

try putting some shading up in your greenhouse or if like me {a cheapskate}cardboard to shade through the sunniest part or move them yo a shady area when its to bright
