Woo for broody hens...
« on: May 02, 2010, 13:44 »
My big girl Rosie has decided to go broody... she growled at me this morning and hasn't moved out of the next box in 2 days.

Today I moved her to a broody coop and after complaining fro about 30 mins she snuggles back down on 2 of her eggs.

I have 6 black australorp eggs resting at the moment, so if she is still sitting tight tomorrow, I'll pop them under her.

Well she was completely pancaked this morning and hissed at me when I refilled her food - so she is now sitting on 6 Australorp eggs and we'll see how it goes!

If it doesn't work out, no problems, the eggs were 25c each so not a great investment!
