Title: jam pans and halogen hobs

Hi all need some advice please just got a house for our retirement and bring us a bit interest on what was our savings in this house it has a hallogen hob can i use my jam pan on it, it wont bee for a while as we are renting it out for a few years first it all might change by then but i know im not going through all that cooker stuff again and getting gas put in ref how many thermo cuples ect .

Anyone got a hallogen hob ?will i need new pans.

Nope not got a halogen, but I've got an induction. When looking for pans they do specify if they work on halogen so maybe a certain type is needed. Induction definitely do

That's usefull info mumofstig.  I once read that pans with a concave base (through wear or abuse) are no good as the airgap between the base and heat source causes a heating imbalance that mucks about with the thermostat.
