Thank you very much for sharing what you're thinking hillfooter :). It's very much appreciated :).

I'll try and post a few photos of their tails tomorrow. The mixed bantam's tail is compact and tightly feathered which could possibly be a good sign that it's a hen.

Hillfooter - what colour should their bearing be?

last year I had a bantam boy with pointy neck feathers different stance and elongated tail feathers - this boy then started to lay eggs and is one of my best broody hens. I also had a girl white araucana (from a long established breeder) who at 9 months old suddenly grew huge, started to crow and turned out to be a boy. As i said before the only sure way with some birds is to wait and see what happens.
Staffies are softer than you think.

Hi, I think the frizzle is a boy and the other one is a hen.  :-)

For cocks their bearing should be male coloured and vice versa.

I mean of course how they behave and their carriage.  Cocks tend to be more upright in their carriage and assertive in their behaviour and more confrontational.  Also they develop different body shapes though at 6 weeks it's hard to tell.  Hens have fuller feathering on their rumps and males more noticable saddles and supposedly more pointed feathering on their hackles though unless you can compare several birds of the same breed and distinguish by comparision it is difficult to be sure.

Unfortunately I think you'd need to be a frizzle expert to tell from a photo.  They're stupid birds they don't have two feathers pointing in the same direction so I don't know how you can tell from the feathering!

The bantam appears to have quite sturdy legs so if anything that points more towards a cockerel but I'll stick with my original guess.

Sorry not to be more helpful.

It's a frizzle what, Pretty Chick?

"Frizzle" in itself isn't a breed, just a description of they type of feathers.  So you can have a Frizzled pekin, or a frizzled Poland (you can even get Frizzled Silkies.)

So you would need to have some idea of what the parents were to find the characteristcs of the offspring could be.

However at 6 weeks you would expect the comb and wattles have have some development in a cockerel - though it is always easier to compare if you have more than one of the same breed to compare!

PS: You should never breed two frizzled birds together, because two copies of the frizzle gene are lethal

Hi casey :).

I think he/she is a frizzled pekin. The people who gave us the eggs to hatch just wrote "black frizzle" on it.
