Laburnum possible from seed
« on: May 11, 2011, 06:17 »
Hi, having joined this forum recently after getting my first allotment in March, I find my first question isn't anything to do with veggie growing.
Basically I'm after a laburnum for the front garden, and wondered if I can grow from seed?
I already have seed, there's a tree outside my work that has donated some seed, which looks very much like sweet pea actually.

Any tips or just chuck em in a pot and wait and see?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums.

Apparantly it's quite easy, (just don't eat the seed!).

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Very often you can find baby Laburnum trees growing  under and around the main tree, ie, seeds that have germinated on their own.   You could carefully dig one out and pot it up. :)
