I am about to pant my strawberry's, is there a recommended gap between plants that I should use?

I don't know anything about panting strawberries  - I've never tried that  - but I believe the recommended spacing for planting is 12 - 18" between plants and 3ft between rows. However mine are much closer together than that and do fine.

If your strawberries are panting, it sounds to me like they have been suffering from lack of water in this warm spell...!!!

I've never seen an excited strawberry before (it's usually me that gets excited when I'm about to pick and eat them!)

Around 12" or more is good as it allows for the numerous runners later.
