Hi all,

Just got home to see a massive tabby cat leg it out of the garden when i came through the back gate, we have a rabbit running loose in the garden for the last 6 or 7 years with no problem but I wondered if bantams are going to be safe from cats when we get some?

We had a pair of pheasants in our garden doing what comes naturally at this time of year  and our cat just watched them for a while and then wandered off.

I don't think they will worry chickens. It's the foxes you'll need to watch out for, even during the day.

Hi I live in an area which I think every person owns a cat, i used to have 7 different cats wandering around the garden (this is a nightmare as I love wild birds, small mammals, and I also have a pond with frogs) but since getting the chickens most of the cats now stay away,

we are surrounded by every house owning a cat, now as much as im not a cat person, i do believe they have there uses at keeping the mouse problem down (if you have any about).   My next door neighbours cat is brillant with my girls she doesnt come anywhere near them, but since having the new girls we are attracting a few cats into the garden, had to chase one away last nite as it was getting abit too close and had the look on its face.   nickyx

Speaking of looking out for foxes, we were driving home from a family meal to see a very confused looking grown fox in the middle of the round about!
