Gone with the wind?
« on: November 27, 2021, 12:04 »
It got a tad blowy here last night and one or two things moved around here. I hope all is ok with you all.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Snow wind and rain here in Hampshire. The forecast has caused the cancellation of two local Christmas fairs.
As a keen photographer I had hoped the snow would settle but it’s all gone  :(
News from my sister in law in Yorkshire fence fell on my niece’s car fortunately no damage.
Staying in I think it’s rather cold.
Keep digging

I thought we'd escaped with nothing more than a 30 minute power outage around midnight.  Looking out the front a tree had come down by the bridge and was causing a bit of a snarl up on the main road. Credit to the local council, they have already been out and cleared it.

All sorts of things have gone with the wind locally - roofs, trees, greenhouse glass, fences, power. Floods and snow in odd places due to the precipitation and leaves washed into drains.

Various events cancelled, buses held up, trains cancelled (more than leaves on the line!). It's been a hefty storm.

A bit of a worry down in Cornwall overnight & first thing this morning as to whether to set off home, but after a walk to the seafront where it wasn’t too bad we set off, saw quite a few small branches & twigs on tge littler roads, but once on the A30 & beyond it was fine although there were some good gusts but we got home safely.
Once home & a quick check on the plot all seemed to be fine, I was rather worried about my new tunnel.

They had to cancel the annual fireworks display here!

I was on my Tod, leaning up against our beacon post, staring at nothing for ages...:0~
