Title: Mountfield Service Manual
Post by: AlfieD on March 31, 2012, 23:48
I have just bought a Mountfield M1Super Rotovator I was told by the gent who sold it that he bought it second hand in 1976, how can I find out how old it is and can I get a service manual for it, The Model number is 92902, type 1789  01 Code 78082825  It starts first pull and goes well, is it ok to run it on unleaded. Any help would be appreciated
Kind regards
Alfie D

Are the manuals here any help?
Your machine will run on unleaded, it was originally designed to do so.

The Briggs and Stratton engine numbers that you quote can usually be the key the everything with regard engine info'.  The last set, Code numbers, give the date of engine manufacture as 28-8-1978.
With age there is the slight risk that the cowling tinwork has got swopped from another engine in a past repair but you can mostly tell if it looks an original.
