Hi everyone just a quick question my hubby made some raised beds to make life easier, we filled them with top soil then put horse manure on top but now wondering should we have put the manure on ? we will be growing veg in poly tunnel first to start them off them will transfer them to the raised beds what do you think?

Can't see any problem with that, providing the manure is well rotted. Would probably  have been better put on in the autumn. But you can dig it in. Best of luck, have a good season.

If you are growing carrots or parsnips, you are likely to get forked roots. Shouldn't cause anything else too much of a problem as long as your seedlings are well established before putting them out.

generally if your eating the growth from on top of the ground manure is a good thing, apart from brassicas. if the crop is underneath you may need to restrain on the manure at least until autumn.

everyone has slightly different views, i would imagine a lot depends on the soil you have in the first place.
