Missing Chickens
« on: September 10, 2010, 21:13 »
Two of my chickens have disappeared....without a trace.

An ex batt has been missing for 2 days now...not hide or feather of her...no evidence to suggest something got in and killed her...I am very upset

To make matters worse, Today, I let out my breeding birds, in preperation for my return to uni, but I left their pens open so they could return to their coops. Well I went into my white silkies to shut them away and...a white silkie hen is missing too...I only let her out today and she was fine earlier...

I am going spare. I can't find them alive, I can't find them dead. I've had the dogs in the pen sniffing around. Trouble is, theres lots of bushes in their enclosure so they could be hiding. Its happened before when I thought one was missing and actually she was in a bush for the night.

The electric fence is down because rats have killed the electrics...I hope they will be alright :(

Pray they are still alive :(

:( :( :(

Double post, but I hope you can forgive me cos I am the bringer of HAPPY NEWS!!!!

My silkie girl turned up, she had falled into the sluice gate. I am making someone put a lid on that ****** thing. She is cold and wet, and a little shocked, but she is under a heat lamp now and eating.

We found her when she heard my mum coming and started rosey really loudly.

Still missing one hen but my silkie is back and safe and is having hugs and mealworms :)
