tevex multi tool???
« on: November 21, 2007, 21:43 »
can anyone out there give me any ideas where i can get a long handled  TEVEX multi tool from. please?
they were made by wolfs?? yonks ago and have a spade and a fork detachable head and making digging so much easier.
I borrowed one from a fellow ploty and it really did work well but he got it about 20 years ago and can't remember where he got it.
Thanks
Always willing to try something new

Must admit to never hearing off one, I've got a terex spade by wolf which is a spring loaded digging tool  and you can get a fork head for it.

Have you tried ebay ?

Wolf are still doing it, with interchangeable heads and so on, they are good, hopeless to tell you, who sells it around here, cos it's diff everywhere.

But if you google for wolf, you can order online what you want. :)

This is just one site selling them LINK :)

Yes I have one too, and I use the little fork head all summer for weeding and turning over the top soil. I want to add heads gradually, so am hoping for the little rake for Christmas, if not I will buy it myself.
Loads of garden centres sell them, but I have actually found that they are cheaper from the Wolf and Garten website direct. Just google the name and you will find it.

Oh, sorry, I should have read your post more carefully, the Terrex autospade you are looking for and almost certainly, it used to be in fashion long ago, as far as I know it faded away because replacement parts were not available.

If you found it somewhere, make sure you get extra part with it, just in case.

I'm vague on detail, I think it has some spring in it.

wolf stopped making the autospade donkeys years ago, you may find one on ebay though.

I've just clicked on the link, that is indeed the very same spade as wolf used to make ( I used to sell  them, back in prehistoric days)
Just had a look at the price as well   OUCH!  I've taken a sudden dislike to the colour.

As long as you take only about 6" deep slices it's fine, big bits bust the curved  bit at the front    I know from experience   :(

That looks really handy, but expensive.  I think I would be just as well served by a lightweight spade if there is such a thing.  My problem with digging is the weight of the spade itself (not so much the soil).  But it may just be my technique.
